The G-Class or G-Wagen, short for Geländewagen (or cross-country vehicle), is a four-wheel drive vehicle SUV. The G-Class is characterized by its boxy styling and body-on-frame construction. It utilizes three fully locking differentials, one of the few vehicles to have such a feature.
The range was refreshed again in 1997, including the introduction of a power-topped convertible and two new engines, the Turbodiesel engine. The 300 Turbodiesel engine was a 3.0L 6-cylinder with a maximum output of 177 horsepower.
