The 2012 Lamborghini AU79 Aventador LP700-4 was the creation of Prestige Imports | Lamborghini Miami. Dealership principal Brett David envisioned it after the success of the Sharpie Lamborghini Gallardo. (That was a car “painted” with a Sharpie by graffiti artist Jona Cerwinske.)

The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 was created after a painstaking, 70-hour process where it was wrapped in gold foil. The entire process was captured as part of a Prestige Imports X Cinamotive collaboration.

The 2012 Lamborghini AU79 Aventador LP700-4 has a $50,000 paint job. Part of the high cost of that paint was attributed to real gold being used in it. Some published reports have suggested the entire cost of the project was $379,000 when all was said and done.

The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is a car that shines on the outside. No interior changes were made to it. That’s because the interior technology of the standard Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 is already pretty ground breaking. It all revolves around an innovative carbon-fiber monocoque. It’s a mixture of high-level stiffness and safety that relies on unique lightweight engineering.

The expressively designed interior offers hi-tech features like the TFT cockpit display with Drive Select Mode system.

The Lambo Aventador, that the 2012 Lamborghini AU79 Aventador LP700-4 is based on, has a powerful V12 engine with a single-clutch seven-speed semi-automatic transmission. It reaches a top speed of 217 mph thanks to 700 horsepower and a maximum torque of 509 lb. ft. at 5,500 rpm. Its 0-60 time is 2.9 seconds.

The Lambo Aventador has a dry weight of 3,472 lbs. but it’s not known how much weight was added because of the special gold paint job of the Lamborghini AU79 Aventador LP700-4. Before the gold paint, it has a weight-to-horsepower ratio of 4.96 lbs.
