Chevrolet Camaro Funny Car
This 1997 Chevrolet Camaro Funny Car from the private collection of drag racing legend Don “The Snake” Prudhomme is an important part of his racing career. It was the first F/C to surpass the 315 MPH barrier, recording a speed of 315.45 MPH at Houston Raceway Park driven by Ron Capps, who went on to win NHRA Rookie of the Year honors. In that first year of Copenhagen sponsorship for Don Prudhomme Racing, Capps was top qualifier with this car at two national events, winning at Sonoma and St. Louis and finishing runner-up at Brainerd, Minnesota and eventually amassing a win-loss record of 24-18. The car retains its original chassis, 496 CI Hemi engine and composite body and has been maintained in running condition. This record-setting machine from Don Prudhomme’s personal collection will be sold on bill of sale.
