Honda HPD Supercharged CR-Z Concept

Upon release of the Honda CR-Z Sport Hybrid, our customers, dealers and the automotive press all requested a high-performance version of the vehicle. The Supercharged HPD CR-Z is a refinement to the idea of the HPD Hybrid R Concept: a more “streetable” high-performance CR-Z.

In addition to addressing the public's demand for a higher-performance CR-Z, HPD wanted to further expand its capabilities of developing production-car-based performance products by taking the vehicle from concept to ready for market. HPD made enhancements to the CR-Z to improve acceleration, turning and stopping by supercharging the engine and upgrading the tires and brakes.

The HPD Supercharged CR-Z made its debut at the 2012 SAE World Congress in Detroit. Development is continuing, so you will have to stay tuned, as we have much more planned for the HPD Supercharged CR-Z in the future.

The HPD Supercharged CR-Z Concept is on display with a further exploration of the performance potential of the CR-Z Sport Hybrid. Expanding on the CR-Z supercharged engine displayed at the 2011 SEMA Show, HPD made enhancements to improve acceleration, handling and stopping by adding a sport exhaust, developing a sport suspension, designing wheels with high performance tires and adding sport brakes.
