Cadillac LaSalle Mild Custom Opera Coupe

A hallmark year for LaSalle design came in 1939 with the entire line up being exhibited at the World’s Fair in New York. Design was guided by Harley Earl himself, while the front end, and particularly the grille, are said to have been influenced by renowned designer Raymond Loewy. The uniquely tall and slender grille with closely set headlight enclosures and sweeping fenders are a highpoint in elegant automobile design—a hallmark of the era.

This car was auctioned off by RM Auctions in March of 2012 at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, Florida.
