Ferrari 512 BBi

In 1981, Ferrari introduced the 512 BBi at the Paris Salon, with the “i” reflecting the installation of Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. The 512 BBi was capable of remarkable performance numbers: zero-to-sixty in 5.4 seconds, a top speed of at least 175 mph and a quarter-mile time of 14.3 seconds at 103 mph.

This car was auctioned off by RM Auctions in March of 2009 at the The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, Florida, in January of 2011 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa, Phoenix, Arizona, in August of 2011 at the Portola Hotel & Spa and Monterey Conference Center, Monterey, California and in May of 2012 at the Grimaldi Forum, Monaco.

340 bhp, 4,942 cc, double overhead cam horizontally opposed mid-mounted twelve-cylinder engine, Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, five-speed manual gearbox in rear-mounted transaxle, independent front suspension with unequal length A-arms, coil springs and anti-roll bar, independent rear suspension with unequal length A-arms, twin coil springs and anti-roll bar and four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes. Wheelbase: 98.4".
