Cadillac Model F Four-Passenger Touring
As 1904 ended, the Cadillac Automobile Company prepared some noteworthy new models. Chief among them was the new four-cylinder Model D, a 30 hp front-engine car on a whopping 100-inch wheelbase. Demand for the single-cylinder cars remained high, however, so new Models E and F were introduced, the former a runabout and the latter offered as a four-passenger tourer or a delivery car. Models E and F had the radiator mounted at the front of an “engine hood,” in the style of a front-engine car, although the engine remained under the seat.
This car was auctioned off by RM Auctions in October of 2010 at the Hershey Lodge, Hershey, Pennsylvania.
9 hp, 98.2 cu. in. horizontal single-cylinder engine, two-speed planetary transmission, tubular front axle with transverse leaf spring, live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs and single chain drive, dual differential-mounted brakes. Wheelbase: 76".
