Ford Country Squire Woodie Station Wagon

After 1951, only one Ford station wagon, the Country Squire, bore any wood trim, and from mid-1952 even that was entirely of artificial composition. Its image, however, was undiminished, and such was the appeal of the Country Squire that soon other manufacturers, who had once raced to abandon wood, were fielding their own imitations.

This car was auctioned off by RM Auctions in August 2009 at the Portola Hotel & Spa and Monterey Conference Center, Monterey, California.

212 bhp, 292 cu. in. ohv V8 engine, three-speed manual transmission with overdrive, coil spring independent front suspension, live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 116".
