Jaguar Series 1 E-Type Roadster

Unveiled at Geneva in 1961, Jaguar’s E-Type was and continues to be one of the most capable and beautifully styled sports cars ever built. Later Series I examples with 4.2-litre engines are widely considered the most collectable, drivable and user-friendly. From its covered headlamps and the triple SU-carbureted, 265 hp DOHC XK “six” and fully synchronized gearbox, it has all the elements of style and performance drivers look for.

This car was auctioned off by RM Auctions in March of 2011 at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, Florida and in May of 2012 at the Grimaldi Forum, Monaco.

265 bhp, 4,235 cc overhead valve twin cam inline six-cylinder engine, three SU carburetors, four-speed synchronized manual transmission, four-wheel independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. Wheelbase: 96"
