Porsche 911S Targa

By the early 1970s, the Porsche 911 had hit its stride, and its iconic shape had become instantly recognizable to a future generation of collectors. Aside from the RS homologation specials, the “S” variant was the top production car specification, and 1973 was a desirable, watershed year in particular, before regulations mandated such undesirable modifications like larger bumpers.

This car was auctioned off by RM Auctions in January of 2012 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa, Phoenix, Arizona.

190 bhp, 2,341cc flat six-cylinder with forged alloy pistons, type 915 five-speed manual transmission, independent suspension front and rear, four-wheel vented disc brakes, rear-engine RWD. Wheelbase: 2,210 mm (87").
