Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud
Launched in April 1955, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud boasted the final iteration of the W.O. Bentley-designed inline six-cylinder engine. With 4.9 litres, increased compression, larger carburetors and intake valves, it was Britain’s flagship luxury motor car. As the last production Rolls-Royce to feature a separate chassis in the traditional manner, its elegant appearance marked the end of an era.
This car was auctioned off by RM Auctions in October of 2011 at the Battersea Evolution, London.
178 bhp, 4,887 cc inline six-cylinder engine, four-speed automatic transmission, power steering, independent front suspension, rigid rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, power brakes. Wheelbase: 3,225 mm.
