Seat Altea Sport
From Seat press: New Altea is a compact MPV with a twist – offering not only more sporty styling than the competition, but also a genuinely involving drive and the promise of performance potent enough to catch even hot hatch drivers off guard.
Altea is the third best-selling car in the SEAT UK line-up behind Ibiza and Leon Rivals include Peugeot 3008, Ford Focus C-MAX, Citroën C4 Picasso and Renault Scenic. Among a commendably broad line-up of modern powerplants, the arrival of common rail diesel technology is the clear engineering highlight in the new Altea.
Customers can choose from three petrol and three diesel engines, all of which have undergone considerable modifications to provide better performance and fuel consumption figures, and lower emission levels.
The diesel range is now equipped with common rail technology. This is based on the Volkswagen Group’s 1.6 litre, four cylinder engine that delivers 105 PS. It features piezo-electric injectors for more precise injection, and the common rail system gives greater flexibility. The result, in Ecomotive form especially, is greater fuel economy and fewer emissions, less vibration and reduced noise levels, all with very respectable performance figures.
