Mazda RXFE Henry Wang Concept
From Henry Wang's RXFE Concept: RXFE represents how a modern successor to the iconic rotary-powered RX-7(FD) can take form. The "E" stands for electric as four hub-mounted electric motors now work alongside the rotary engine in a hybrid setup. With regards to the body, the spoiler and louvers up front actively adjust to increase down force and moderate airflow to the engine and electric motors. For the benefit of aerodynamics and aesthetics, side mirrors are done away with in favor of an embedded camera and monitor system. The fan-spoked wheels on the other hand protrude just beyond the body's width to funnel air in towards the disc brakes and motors. This redirection of air cools the vital components, reduces overall turbulence, and completes this efficiency-conscious redesign of a proven icon.
