Plymouth Fury

Plymouth broke away from its traditional "low priced three" competitors with its very own premium priced high performance model, the Fury - first introduced as a mid-year model in 1956. For 1957 this high performance sport coupe was assertively restyled.

Longer and lower than offerings from rivals Ford and Chevrolet the aggressively-named Fury was available in a single body style - an airy, two door hardtop finished in Sand Dune with gold anodized aluminum inserts which swept from the lunging grille to the tops of the perky tailfins.

Under the Fury's broad, low hood throbbed the biggest engine in the price field - Plymouth's exclusive V-800 (5.2L) V8 with dual quad carburetors.
