BMW M3 Frozen Black Edition
Similar to the 30 Frozen Gray Edition M3s that BMW had offered in the prior year, the Frozen Black Edition is a very limited edition coupe, seeing as how only 20 were made. Each Frozen Edition comes loaded with the Competition and Premium packages, meaning that these BMWs have almost everything BMW offers.
The exclusive paint is a matte-finish metallic black, which BMW accented with red brake calipers under gloss black, 19” Style 395M wheels, and gloss black body trim, including the grill inserts on the front and sides, window trim, and exhaust tips. The full-carbon roof is a perfect compliment the frozen paint job. BMW stated that the Frozen Black Editions are intended to celebrate the arrival of a whole line of different “frozen,” or matte paint colors that the 2011 BMW M3 Individual customization program will offer.
Exclusively for the BMW M3 Frozen Edition, each will feature a black Novillo leather interior with red contrast stitching. Because these limited M3s include the Premium Package, they come with power front seats and the carbon leather interior trim option. Voice-activated navigation is standard along with satellite radio and the BMW Individual Enhanced premium sound system, featuring Harmon and Kardon speakers. BMW did not forget any of the amenities when addressing the interior of these cars.
Under the hood of this BMW M3 is a 414 horsepower 4.0-liter V8 that produces 295 lb-ft of torque and reaches a top speed limited to 155 mph. Paired with BMW’s M DCT Transmission, reaching 60 from a stop takes only 4.7 seconds.
As one might have expected, all 2011 BMW M3 Frozen Black Editions sold out incredibly fast. It only took 22 minutes for anxious customers to buy all 20 units.
