Subaru is charging less for the 2027 Outback than it did for the 2026 model, and the base trim still comes with a 12.1-inch touchscreen and standard all-wheel drive.

The new entry-level Outback starts at $32,995 with a $1,545 Destination & Delivery charge putting the sticker price at $34,540, according to Subaru of America.

That is $1,905 below where the 2026 lineup opened once destination is included.

Base Trim Price And Standard Features

Subaru pulled off the price cut by bringing back a true entry-level trim below last year's Premium. It's the same move Subaru made with the base Impreza for 2027, inserting a cheaper trim under the existing range rather than discounting across the board.

Every 2027 Outback, base trim included, runs the same 2.5-liter Boxer four-cylinder making 180 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.

The base trim's standard list reads like a Premium trim from a few years back: heated front seats, heated side mirrors, a power tailgate, 18-inch alloy wheels, and 8.7 inches of ground clearance. Driver-assist tech carries over too, with Subaru's EyeSight system and DriverFocus monitoring standard from the start.

Cabin tech doesn't get stripped down either. The base Outback pairs a 12.1-inch touchscreen running wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, both items that used to be reserved for pricier trims on plenty of competitors.

Equipment Compared With Higher Trims

Step up to the Premium trim at $36,540, and the main difference is upholstery as Subaru swaps the base model's cloth seats for StarTex synthetic leather. That trim actually costs $95 more than last year's Premium, a bump Subaru attributes to a higher destination charge rather than added equipment.

Moving further up the range means bigger jumps in both price and power. The Limited starts at $41,540, and the Touring at $45,040.

Both the Limited XT and Touring XT bring a turbocharged 2.5-liter flat-four rated at 260 horsepower, starting at $45,140 and $48,140 respectively.

Cargo capacity stays identical across the lineup regardless of trim. Subaru lists 34.6 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 80.5 cubic feet with them folded flat. Properly equipped turbo and Wilderness models are rated to tow up to 3,500 pounds, while other trims carry a 2,700-pound rating.

Buyers who want the Wilderness trim's off-road hardware, along with the extra ground clearance and all-terrain tires, will pay $45,540.

Three premium paint colors, including Sand Dune Pearl and Daybreak Blue Pearl, add $395 on any trim.
