Mercedes-Benz C 111-II Concept

From Mercedes-Benz press: Just six months after unveiling the sensational C 111 in September 1969, Mercedes-Benz was making headlines once again.

At the Geneva Motor Show in March 1970, the company showed a radically revised version of this high performance sports car with a Wankel engine.  The four-rotor engine of the C 111 -II developed 257 kW (350 hp), for even better performance and acceleration from 0-62 mph in 4.8 seconds.  With its all-new body, the car was even more arresting than its predecessor, and yet suitable in every respect for everyday use.  The only down-side: it never went into production.
