Chevrolet Corvette GT1
Chevrolet is commemorating Corvette Racing's decade of success with the introduction of the 2009 Corvette GT1 Championship Edition. These limited edition vehicles (designated Regular Production Option GT1) will be available in coupe, convertible, and Z06 models in yellow or black livery. With graphics packages inspired by the championship-winning Corvette C6.R, the GT1 Championship Edition Corvettes will make their public debut at Sebring International Raceway. Production is scheduled for spring.
The 2009 Corvette GT1 Championship Editions (RPO GT1) come with an NPP performance exhaust system and the Z51 options package standard, which includes optional MX0 6-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission and the U3U navigation system. A C2L dual roof is also optional.
The 2009 Chevy Corvette lineup includes the Corvette coupe and Corvette convertible, each powered by the 430-horsepower (321 kW) LS3 V-8. The 6.2L LS3 small-block V-8 is the standard engine in coupe and convertible models. It is rated at 430 horsepower (321 kW)* and 424 lb.-ft. of torque (575 Nm)* with the standard exhaust system. An optional two-mode exhaust system brings a power rating increase to 436 horses (325 kW) and 428 lb.-ft. (580 Nm).
A specific VIN sequence is reserved for the 2009 Corvette GT1 Championship Edition. The 300001 series for 45U Velocity Yellow represents the #3 C6.R. The specific VIN sequence 400001 series is reserved for 41U Black, representing the #4 C6.R. Production is limited to 100 per each color and body style combination, and 600 total in Spring 2009.
