McLaren 570S Shows Off Its Support Skills at La Course Cycling Event
What is it with cycling and sports cars lately? Not that we're complaining. Last year we saw the Jaguar F-Type coupe (and F-Pace SUV) take up support duty for Team Sky during the Tour De France, and now McLaren is doing the same for Specialized in the women’s La Course cycling event. The event is a one-day, women-only race organized by the same people behind the Tour De France. It’s relatively new, kicking off its inaugural season in 2014. Already though, McLaren has seen the value of the event, and teamed up with bike maker Specialized to debut a 570S that’s pretty…well, special. Donning the Specialized logos front to back, the white McLaren looks handsome no matter the livery. Its supercar-styling is topped off with a roof rack able to carry two Specialized bikes and not much else. Even with the abundance of options in configuring your own 570S, a roof rack like this isn't one of them (yet).
Though the Specialized Women’s team might not have take home the gold medal this year, they definitely won the ‘Coolest Support Car’ award. The 562-horsepower McLaren features a twin-turbo V8 and a 0-60 mph of just 3.2 seconds, in case you forgot.
