This Mini Cooper Cafe Racer Custom Will Steal Your Heart
The only thing cooler than a classic Mini, is a classic Mini given a custom makeover and some new go-fast bits. This one was created by Ricardo and Ricardo at Cool & Vintage, and sports a 'Cafe Racer' custom look. It's the first of two custom Minis being built by the group, and both will eventually duke it out on the streets of Lisbon. The team started by taking the original 998cc 4-pot and replacing it with a 1300cc engine, which was rebuilt by English company Broadspeed. New Cooper S specification brakes were added to the front and rear to further improve on the original. RELATED: See More of This Handsome Mini Cooper Cafe Racer
There are matching black Cooper S wheels and an RC40 exhaust with an LCB manifold. According to Silodrome, the project went even further in an effort to improve handling by adding adjustable A-Rods fitted with Gaz adjustable shocks. A John Alley sway bar was also thrown into the mix.
Additional changes include an aluminum radiator and a few cosmetic adjustments to give it a more vintage look. There's a period racing seat inside and spotlights on the bumper. The finished product looks fantastic, and to think there will be two of these beauties running around the streets of Lisbon.
