Mercedes-Benz Hits the Links With the Luxurious Garia Golf Cart
The Mercedes-Benz brand has always been associated with an upscale lifestyle, so it makes a certain amount of sense that its latest endeavor isn't a car, but a golf cart. The Garia golf cart was designed with the same care the company puts into its vehicles, but with a focus on the course instead of the open road. There's a golf ball-inspired grille with LED headlights along with a carbon fiber roof and five-spoke alloy wheels. The rear gets a carbon fiber diffuser, spoiler, and angled golf bag holder so you can easily grab the perfect club. Inside, it's not as plush as an S-Class, but it puts other golf carts to shame. Ride along in a lounge chair covered in premium leather, and grab a cold drink from the refrigerator hidden under the bench seat. Carbon fiber and wood accents complete the luxury vibe, but the centerpiece of the design is a 10.1-inch infotainment system. It shows you the course layout so you never get lost, and keeps track of your score so you know just how much better you are than your buddies.
You can even check the weather, order refreshments delivered right to your location, and stream music from your phone with Bluetooth connectivity. Its lithium-ion battery and electric motor provide 14 horsepower to give your golf cart a top speed of 18.6 mph and a range of 49.7 miles. For now, this is only a concept, but Mercedes will consider production if there's enough interest.
