700-HP Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Battles a Cadillac CTS-V
Another Saturday, another drag race. This time, we find out what happens when you take a 700-horsepower Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, and put it head-to-head with a "bolt on" Cadillac CTS-V. Both are powerful, sure, but one is a big, beefy SUV while the other is an American super sedan. How will they fare in a fight? Bay Area Racing has the answer in this video showing the two cars on the drag strip. The Jeep comes with an SRT 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine that has been upped to 700 horsepower. In stock form alone, its top speed is 160 mph, so you can only imagine what it can do with all that extra power. RELATED: See Photos of the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night
The Cadillac, on the other hand, is a high-performance sedan—one of the most powerful vehicles the company has ever produced. It features a 556-horsepower V8, and a 0-60 mph time of about 3.9 seconds, not to mention some aftermarket add ons. Neither vehicle should have much trouble, but you never know how things will turn out when you add driver skill into the mix.
Watch as the pair take off down the drag strip and you'll see quite a battle. The numbers alone say the Cadillac should have no trouble pulling out a win, but is that enough for the sedan to beat the SUV?
