Actor Rupert Grint Was Slightly Terrified Climbing the Hill at Goodwood
If you're a fan of the Harry Potter film franchise, than you probably know the name Rupert Grint. He starred alongside the chap with funny glasses and the scar on his forehead. But did you know Rupert has a brother named James who is a rallycross driver? If you answered yes, you're either a diehard EuroRX fan, or you obsessively stalk the Grint family—let's hope it's the former.
After falling down the deep rabbit hole of Goodwood Road and Racing videos, this video of a Peugeot 308 GTi piqued my interest. In it, the brothers Grint talk a bit about their competitive nature, and who the better driver is of the two (which is obviously James as he's on the Albatec Racing team). James is one of five drivers on the Albatec racing team, and he's currently competing in the MSA British Rallycross Championship. I imagine he enjoys scaring his brother whenever he has some free time.
If you're not a great passenger, you can understand Rupert's persistent cussing as James hustles a Peugeot 308 GTi up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The four door hot hatch boasts 270 horsepower, 243 lb-ft of torque, and does it all by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Judging by the sound in this video, the 308 GTi is one angry little bugger that we'll never see stateside. You can watch an additional video on the Goodwood YouTube channel that offers an even better look at the famed Goodwood hill climb, as well as more exhaust audio from the 308.
