McLaren Readying Track-Only 570S Sprint
The 570S is technically the ‘softest' car in the McLaren lineup—what with the potent P1 and aggressive 650S. Of course, the term ‘softest' is only relative. Under the hood is a twin-turbo, 562-horsepower V8. And from a dead stop, it will blast to 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds. But McLaren wants to make its ‘softest’ supercar even more hardcore with the introduction of the 570S Sprint this week. What it will be, essentially, when it shows up at Goodwood, is a track-only version of the already potent sports car. And it should be damn good. We won’t get a full set of details until the official release, but we do know that power and torque will be “optimized to ensure the ultimate levels of driver engagement…and the best levels of noise, too.”
Like its GT4 sibling, the 570S Sprint will wear a similar racing livery—orange, black and, white—without all the hardcore aerodynamics you’d expect in a full-on GT racing car; just a few new enhancements here and there.
Check it out in full when it goes on display at Goodwood later in the week.
