Check Out the $17 Million Cars of Fast and Furious 8

Despite the tragic loss of one of its brightest stars, the late actor Paul Walker, the Fast and Furious film series delves into its eighth installment, to be released in 2017—Fast 8.

The usual cast and crew return for Fast 8, including Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, as well as a few new faces to the series. What hasn’t changed, however, are the world-class cars and trucks that will make appearances on screen, everything from fast Audis to multi-million dollar Japanese concept cars. Dennis McCarthy, who has the enviable job of vehicle coordinator for the Fast and Furious series, recently took time to showcase some of the secret vehicles of the upcoming film. All told, he estimates the value of the cars pictured to exceed $17 million…and that’s just for one particular scene. Take a look, and watch for guest appearances from Michelle Rodriguez and Ludacris. RELATED: Take a Closer Look at Paul Walker's F&F Toyota Supra

"It's what I feel are the coolest cars we've ever put together for one scene," says McCarthy while strolling through the military-esque Fast 8 warehouse. “It's without a doubt the most expensive collection of vehicles we've ever put in one place." In keeping with Fast and Furious tradition, the vehicles span a variety of decades and styles—from exotic European sports cars to vintage American hot rods and high-horsepower imports. There’s something for everyone, and if you don’t have the 15 minutes required to drool over the Fast 8 machinery above, we’ve written down some of the highlights. Actor Tyrese Gibson will be behind the wheel of a custom Bentley Continental GT, featuring a height-adjustable air-ride suspension, Ludacris will pilot a svelte Mercedes-AMG GT S, and vehicle coordinator Dennis McCarthy brings his own ’57 fuel-injected Chevrolet Bel Air into the movie, as well a friend’s 1,000 horsepower, twin-turbocharged 1929 Ford rat rod. A one-of-one Nissan IDx NISMO concept car also joins the set, which was delivered by Nissan along with an engineer to go through its ins-and-outs. Its value? A colossal $2 million. Fast 8 is expected to hit theaters on April 14, 2017. Excited yet? RELATED: Actor Frankie Muniz Bought the 1995 Fast and Furious VW Jetta Photo Credit: Fast and Furious, Facebook
