These are Some of the Strangest Cars of the Nurburgring

Measuring 12.9 miles long and stretching like a ribbon of automotive wonderland through the German countryside, there may not be a more famous length of roadway in the world than the famed Nurburgring Nordschleife, or “North Loop.”  In recent years it has become the go-to spot and measuring stick for developing performance vehicles of all kinds—from the all-new 2017 Camaro Z/28 to the track-tastic Dodge Viper ACR, and even the odd Range Rover or two. But not all cars that round the infamous German “Green Hell” are performance vehicles, in fact, some couldn’t be farther from it. Any personal favorites? There’s something quite hilarious about a heating and air conditioning van flying full-throttle around the Nurburgring. The same can be said about the Ford F-250 pickup, Fiat Multipla, Honda CR-V, and Jeep Wranglers, but we’d reckon the goliath tour bus takes the cake. Thinking of taking a spin? Between its endurance racing and private track day events, the Nurburgring offers “Touristenfahrten” or “tourist ride” days where almost anyone can drive up, plop down a few bucks, and take a crack at the Nordschleife.
