Nikola Motor is Building a 520-HP Electric UTV
Nikola Motor is building the Nikola Zero electric to handle any terrain you can think to conquer. The UTV is a joint project with Pratt & Miller Engineering and features four 155-horsepower motors, one at each wheel. Total power output will be 520 horsepower with 476 lb-ft of torque to give it a 0-60 time of roughly 3 seconds. This UTV is fast. The motors and gearbox are also waterproof and can handle immersion up to 39 inches. Even water won't keep this UTV from getting you where you want to go. It has a 400-volt 50 kWh lithium-ion battery with a range between 100 and 150 miles and can be charged from a fast charger or a simple 110-volt outlet. According to CarScoops, it will also have the industry's first fly-by-wire rear steering system.
There are two 300-watt solar panels on the roof, two 3,500-pound winches, 4G LTE connectivity, and front and rear LED light bars so you can see where you're going no matter the weather. The company is already taking reservations. The final cost will be $42,000, but the first 5,000 preorders will get a $5,000 discount.
