2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport is a Sports Car Bargain
At $80,395, I wouldn’t exactly call the Corvette Z06 ‘affordable.’ Affordable in its class, maybe, but if you’re looking for the performance chops of the Z06, in a slightly less powerful package, the Corvette Grand Sport should be your vehicle of choosing. Thankfully, it starts at just $66,445. Compare that to the Z06, and that’s just over $13,000 worth of savings. Considering the Grand Sport has all the suspension, braking, body, and tire upgrades the standard Z06 has, it’s hard to pass up this Corvette. Especially when it looks this good. Unlike the Z06, though, the engine from the standard Stingray remains—not to say that it’s some underpowered slouch. The 6.2-liter V8 produces 460 horsepower, and should propel you to 60 mph in about 4.0 seconds flat in Grand Sport trim (weight reduction and all).
The Grand Sport Corvette also comes with a huge selection of colors and options for the interior, making this ‘sparse’ sports car less so. For the price, the performance, and the looks, this is the Corvette I’d choose.
