Ken Block’s New Rally Car is Somehow Even Crazier Than Before
When you're Ken Block, the car you're racing has to have a livery that lives up to your crazy reputation. For 2016, Block and his Hoonigans have unveiled a livery that makes even his previous rally car look tame; the 2016 Ford Focus RX features a wild design by artist Felipe Pantone. This is the first time they've partnered with an independent artist. Needless to say, the results are incredible, so we can only hope this is the first of many such collaborations. Pantone came up with the design in just eight days, spray painting his works onto pieces of canvas to start. It keeps much Ken Block's iconic style in tact, but throws some new designs into the mix. The wild geometric shapes and bright colors are intended to create a sense of speed and motion, even when standing still. Ken Block admits that he's a huge fan of Pantone's work, so he was excited to collaborate with the artist on the project.
But these wild designs aren't just appearing on the car, they're also being used on things like apparel, so you can look like Block's car as you cheer him on to victory. Block's eye-catching Ford Focus RX will make its debut in Montalegre, Portugal, on April 17.
