Watch the Tesla Model 3 Make Its First Appearance on Public Roads

The Tesla Model 3 has only just made its official debut a few days ago, but already we have a video of the car out on the streets. It was spotted cruising the roads of Marina Del Rey in southern California, soaking in the sunshine and showing off a bit for the camera. The Model 3 is set to be Tesla's first affordable electric car with a starting price of $35,000. Yes, affordable all depends on your point of view, but it's definitely easier to manage than the Model S or Model X. RELATED: See More Photos of the 2017 Tesla Model 3
The fourth model in the Tesla lineup and is set to go on sale sometime late next year. That's a long wait for a car, true, but it hasn't stopped plenty of people from plunking down their hard-earned cash to make sure they can park one in their driveways. Securing a Model 3 requires a $1,000 deposit, which 115,000 people happily forked over in the first 24 hours that the vehicle was available for order. The final production version is expected to reach 60 mph in under six seconds with faster versions available. It will have a range of 215 miles, which means it could outdistance the upcoming Chevy Bolt. Tesla has traditionally missed the mark on delivery dates so anyone who put money down on that Model 3 might have a very long wait before they can drive one.
