600HP Honda Civic Coupe Gears Up for Global Rallycross
The all-new Honda Civic Coupe is barely off the production line, but already it’s going racing. Not that we’re complaining or anything—it pumps out 600 horsepower and is one of the baddest looking Global Rallycross cars we've seen in a long time. It debuted just a few hours ago at the New York Auto Show, and already it’s turning heads. The aforementioned 600-horsepower engine is just the beginning. A claimed 0-60 mph time of 1.9 seconds makes it blisteringly quick, all-wheel-drive will ensure that power can be dealt with on the track, and the chassis was built by famed Swedish racing engineers Olsberg—aka, the same guys that built Ken Block's Ford Fiesta. The Civic Coupe GRC will make its racing debut on May 21st in Phoenix, piloted by veteran racers Sebastian Eriksson and Joni Wiman. It will challenge the likes of Volkswagen, Ford, and Subaru, all of which have a healthy amount of experience in the series. So Honda has some catching up to do.
If you can't wait until may, head over to the New York Auto Show this week to catch it on display.
