The Pagani Huayra Will Go Topless at Pebble Beach
As if you needed another reason to look forward to the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, word on the golden street is that Pagani will unveil the second iteration its hypercar at the legendary show this August. Said to be in the “final stages of development”, the new Huayra (pronounced wai̯ra) Roadster will differ significantly from the previous model in that it’ll have a re-tuned suspension, lose the gullwing doors, and gain a bit of weight on the re-engineered chassis. We expect this weight gain to be akin to a model having a cheat day, eating two slices of bread instead of one. RELATED: See More of the Stunning Pagani Huayra Hypercar
As was the case with the first generation Huayra, the new model will be very exclusive, even for this segment, with production expected to be capped at 100 units. It won’t matter how much of an investment your app just pulled in, buying a new Huayra Roadster will be tougher than stealing a chin hair from Chuck Norris. 75 of the 100 examples are already spoken for, and you can be sure that each of the other 25 will be fought over with vigor.
But fear not, if you’re unable to secure a new Huayra Roadster, your dreams of Italian hypercar bliss are not dead yet. It’s rumored that the newer and more hardcore Huayra BC will have a drop-top variant as well, so you might be able to feel the wind in your hair while driving a bank account on wheels after all.
At the moment, details on la ultimate convertibili are limited, but we’re not surprised to learn that one of the first people said to have ordered one is Alejandro Salomon, of Hyper 5 fame.
