Here’s How the New 'Top Gear' Should Really Look
Maybe I’m jumping the gun here, but I’m not fully convinced that six hosts and one Stig will make for an extremely watchable new Top Gear. Yes, we all still wish it was still Clarkson, Hammond, and May, but often if you punch your coworkers, you’ll be out of a job. But I digress. The new hosts for Top Gear look something like this: Chris Harris, Eddie Jordan, Sabine Schmitz, Rory Reid, Matt LeBlanc, and Chris Evans. If you’re an American like me, only a few of those names should stand out. Chris Harris, for obvious reasons, Matt LeBlanc—again, obvious reasons—and Sabine Schmitz you might remember from former Top Gear appearances and being an all around badass. But here’s the thing, not all of these people should be hosting the new series. Sorry, it’s true. Our Top Gear dream team would look something more like the lead image: Chris Harris, Matt LeBlanc, Rory Reid, and Sabine Schmitz as Stig.
Sorry two dudes that remain forgettable. The dynamic between those three just looks like it will work (fingers crossed). And if you’re not familiar with Reid, he’s the former editor-in-chief of British motoring site Recombu, and pretty hilarious by our account. It's worth taking 5 minutes out of your day to watch his highlight reel.

Chris Harris, on the other hand, still has his funny moments if you watch any of his now former Drive videos, but his knowledge is above and beyond anything we’ve ever seen in Top Gear. A real, professional car show this could be shaping up to be.
As for LeBlanc, he’s just an extremely likable dude and a huge fan of all things two and four wheels. Part of the whole Top Gear shtick is maybe not being as professionally suited to driving as say Schmitz or Harris; LeBlanc is that shtick (no offense).
Alas, we don’t have any say in the production of Top Gear, so none of what we just said is ever going to happen. Let’s just hope all six of these new hosts will be able to find some sort of cohesion.
