This Vilner Mini Cooper Sports an Interior Gone Wild
Looks can be deceiving. From the outside, this would appear to be a fairly standard Mini Cooper cabriolet, apart from a few modest exterior modifications. But from the inside, there’s nothing remotely standard issue about this Mini, to say the least. Enter car styling firm Vilner. Hailing from Bulgaria, Vilner has turned its hand to customizing Nissan GT-Rs, “bullshark” BMWs, and even a Rimac electric concept car. Now the European design studio has opened a second shop in China and this striking Mini marks its first product, commissioned on behalf of a Chinese actress. Her motto, according to Vilner, is “success can be limitless, just like the universe,” which accounts for this car’s truly out-of-this-world interior. Get ready for it. Blast off. To give the interior some interstellar pop, Vilner adorned the steering wheel, gauge bezels, and dashboard with a wild purple-and-pink outer space themed design, which was the product of 25 layers of special coatings and lacquer. The purple motif doesn’t end there, either. Vilner massaged magenta into the flashy leather seats and door cards of the Mini Cooper, each offset with white stitching.
Swathes of blue Alcantara fill the rest of the interior and it’s all tied together with a splash of gold switchgear and a pair of gold-plated rear roll hoops. It’s no wonder this car is described as being “discrete as a firework.”
