The New Porsche 911 Turbo is Mind-Bendingly Fast
The Porsche 911 range is not made up of slow-moving vehicles. They are all rather peppy and most of the range is even turbocharged. Speed is their thing, especially with the new 3.0-liter twin-turbo Carrera. Porsche is going a step further with the 911 Turbo and Turbo S. There is no such thing as too powerful when it comes to cars, at least in Porsche's eyes, so they've taken their 3.8-liter twin-turbo and upped it by about 20-30 horsepower. Why? Because they can, that's why. RELATED: See More of the All-New 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo
This means that the Turbo has 540 hp and the Turbo S comes in at 580 hp. Mind-bendingly fast to say the least. With all that extra power under the hood, the Turbo S will do 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph.
Even the straight 911 Turbo will do 0-62 mph in 2.9 seconds, although its top speed of 199 mph is so close to 200 it'll make you weep. Keep in mind that Porsche is generally conservative with their numbers. Real world results are often better than expected so no matter which Turbo flavor you choose, you're in for a heck of a ride.
