Honda Civic Coupe Bows in Blue at LA Auto Show
Honda built a new Civic sedan; Honda let us drive said new Civic sedan. So with a new Civic sedan finally out and about, we knew it was only a matter of time before they’d ripping off two of those doors and letting it loose on a world stage. This is the new Honda Civic Coupe; kind of handsome, isn’t it? Like the standard Civic, the coupe carries over many of the same styling cues. The front end is sharp (though the chrome adds a cheap feeling to it), and the rear is edgy beyond price point. It’d be safe to say, even, that some styling remains from the mouthwatering Civic Coupe Concept we saw back in New York. RELATED: See More of the All-New 2016 Honda Civic Coupe
Under the hood paints the same picture. The 2.0-liter engine and 1.5-liter turbo have been carried over from the sedan. The base 2.0-liter produces just 158 horsepower, while the upper-trim 1.5-liter pumps out 174. Honda’s new CVT comes standard on the 1.5, but "enthusiasts" can opt for a manual on the base 2.0-liter engine. Expect a manual 1.5 turbo in the coming months.
Honda hasn’t officially released price nor an expected release date, but with less doors and more edges, the Civic Coupe seems ready to rule the market once again.
