This Crazy Chevrolet Corvette/Airplane Mashup is For Sale to The Right Owner
Anything is possible when it comes to modifying cars, but melding a 1984 Chevrolet Corvette with an airplane is probably not on most people's lists of what they want to do in their spare time. For one industrious guy in Charlotte, North Carolina, it was the perfect way to spend a few hours. What you are trying to comprehend is a Corvette with a stretched frame and suspension that has been mated to a 1963 Mooney airplane. The creator says this is technically a recycling project because the plane crashed into a field and was going to be junked. RELATED: See More Images of the 1984 Chevrolet Corvette
The Chevy Corvette was also headed for the scrapyard, as was the 1998 Dodge Dakota truck, which contributed its V6 engine and automatic transmission. Rocco M Yallum took these assorted parts and turned them into, this, which doesn't have a name. It's weird and cool and you can buy it on Craigslist.
Does it fly? Not quite. Yallum thinks he could get it up to speed, but there are a few things missing, like wings, so it's not currently flight-worthy. You'll technically be buying an unfinished Frankenstein of a project with all the major components. It should only take you the next 500 weekends to make the thing work.
