Behold "8NCredible," The1952 Ford 8N Tractor That Hits 96 MPH
Tractors aren't exactly known for their speed. They're workhorses designed to make the job of farming and outdoor drudgery a little bit easier. That's not the case at all for 8NCredible, the 1952 Ford 8N tractor that has been turned into a speed demon. Thanks to Jack Donohue, this mild-mannered tractor is now a 96-mph monster. According to Bangshift, Donohue was inspired by Ab Jenkins who took a Massey Ferguson tractor up to 68 mph on the salt flats back in 1935. With a love of tractors and a career spent as a NASCAR chassis builder, Donohue possessed all the skills he need to take the 8N and turn it into a speed demon. 8NCredible is powered by a naturally aspirated Ford flathead V8. The engine has a Holley carburetor, aluminum Offy heads, and MSD ignition. The fabrication work is all Donohue's and is what really makes this thing stand out in a crowd. That, and the huge rear tires that are usually found on airplanes.

Hitting 96 puts this thing teasingly close to 100 and Donohue plans to work on it more to cross into triple-digit territory. It's not quite stable enough with the tires bouncing right off the ground once it gets to around 80. Bet Ab Jenkins would be mighty impressed with what he started with that run back in 1935.
