"The Fast and the Furious" Gets Three More Films
The Fast and the Furious franchise has become one of the most successful movie series ever. However, many had considered Fast 7, to be the series last due to the tragic death of Paul Walker. Even so, as soon as the film became a box office smashing behemoth, the studio green-lit the next installment of the franchise. Vin Diesel, the star, and now producer of the film has been using his Facebook account to give little tidbits of information about the upcoming film to the fans. Yet, no one was expecting the news he delivered a few days ago. RELATED: Take a Closer Look at the Off-Road Charger From Fast 7
“Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision … they have been like family … I promised the studio I would deliver one last Trilogy to end the saga.” Universal has so much confidence in this franchise that the studio green-lit not one more movie, but three. Presumably called, Fast 72: We Take the Bus, or better yet, Fast 91: I Need More Nitrous In My Mobility Scooter.
All joking aside, we’re eager to see what the direction of this final trilogy is. Fast and the Furious started as a racing/crime movie, very similar to Point Break. However, since the first three, the movies have evolved into a heist film, which has proved much more successful.

While many auto enthusiasts pan the movies for being too ridiculous, it has spawned a new generation of car lovers who grew up watching the films. And that shows in how much the series has made. The last move, Fast 7, grossed over $1.5 billion at the box office making it the fifth highest grossing movie of all time.
What will the next three bring in?
