Uber Dressed Up Dodge Chargers like Star Wars Stormtroopers
On any other day, the sight of Stormtroopers roaming through the streets of New York City could mean only one thing…the Rebel Alliance has fallen and we must all escape to Echo base on the frozen planet of Hoth. Better saddle up your Tauntaun and bring a parka. Thankfully, that’s not the case. Instead, Friday September 4th marked “Force Friday”—the day official Star Wars: The Force Awakens toys and memorabilia hit store shelves. To celebrate the occasion, Uber deployed a fleet of 2015 Dodge Chargers to Manhattan, dressed like First Order Stormtroopers, which gave free rides to Uber users between 9am and 5pm. Only a handful of Uber Chargers were available for the promotional event, which likely caused a disturbance in the force for those left ride-less. But the lucky Uber users who did snag a free ride in a Stormtrooper Dodge also received an official Hot Wheels Star Wars: The Force Awakens diecast car.
Missed out? Unfortunately the Hot Wheels and Uber promotion was a one-day event, meaning if you’re still hunting Stormtrooper Dodge Chargers in New York City…these aren't the Uber cars you should be looking for. Move along, move along.
