Musically Inspired Rolls-Royce Special Edition Headed to Pebble Beach
A Rolls-Royce is a car unlike any other on the road. It commands supercar prices, yet puts comfort and interior space over carbon fiber and neon green paint schemes. It is mean for the understated wealthy owner, who desires the height of comfort when driving to his or her yatch. That doesn’t mean Rolls can’t have some fun sometimes. Rolls-Royce has a long history of custom or “bespoke” models. In this case, it is a bespoke version of the Wraith coupe, dubbed “Inspired by Music.” As the name suggests, its muse is music, specifically rock. With a name like that, one would expect this special edition Wraith to have one heck of a sound system—and it does not disappoint. RELATED: See more images of the Rolls-Royce Wraith
The “Inspired by Music” Wraith features the optional “Bespoke” audio system. It’s a 1,300-watt, 18-channel system that includes two bass speakers, seven mid-range speakers, and seven tweeters. There are even microphones that listen for ambient noise and adjust the various speakers to maintain optimal sound. There are even two “exciter speakers” that are claimed to give the occupants the feel and sound of live music.
The car is painted in a color called “Lyrical Copper,” and many of the speakers are set in a copper finish as a reference to the copper used in the construction of speakers.

This limited edition car will be unveiled live at the Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach. It will be flanked by the “Inspired by Film” and “Inspired by Fashion” special editions. While both have merit in their names, with the “Inspired by Music” edition, Rolls-Royce can point to incidents like the story of Keith Moon supposedly driving his Rolls into a pool for its rock-and-roll credentials.
