15-Year-Old Designs Supercar for a New Thai Automaker
When you think of supercars, Thailand is admittedly not the first place the mind wanders. But never say never. A new mid-engine sports car is in development, pictured here, and it will call the Southeast Asian country home. Currently, no specifications have been made available regarding the sports car, nor the name of the company which will build it. The eye-catching shape of the car was penned and revealed by 15-year-old Thai designer Jennarong Muengtaweepongsa, who confirmed that the sportscar (or perhaps qualified as a supercar) will debut in full at a 2016 press event in Bangkok. The young designer is also the pen at work behind the limited-run SP-200 SIN supercar, proposed by Las Vegas-startup PSC Motors.

We spoke to Muengtaweepongsa regarding the new sports car, and while he couldn’t comment on the car’s mechanical specifications, he did reveal his inspiration.
“The first thing I wanted when I started designing this car was a unique front end to use as a signature for future cars coming from this brand,” mentions Muengtaweepongsa. “I spent weeks sketching front end designs until I came up with the perfect blend.”
“Most people see Asian cars that aren’t Japanese or Korean as either copycats or low quality. We’re here to prove them wrong.”
