This LEGO Ferrari F40 is Probably the Only One You Can Afford
LEGOs— we all love them. They were our first foray into building something. And for many of us, it’s what helped develop our passion for building cars, and in general, loving the idea of something engineered out of nothing. While over the years we may have put aside our Lego focuses to build larger, more complex things, that doesn’t mean we don’t still appreciate the memories we made with these toys. Well, prepare to put down your wrenches and hammers, because LEGO just released one of the coolest toy sets ever. One that’s a worthy fit to sit on your desk for the whole world to see that you’re still just a kid at heart. RELATED: See How LEGO Creators Remade the Cars from Mad Max
In LEGO's latest creator model, the company built a supercar. But it’s no normal supercar— it’s the supercar that started a revolution. The Ferrari F40. Not only is this Lego model extremely detailed in its construction, including the same type of hinges the real car comes with. But it speaks to the childhood gear head in you.
The set includes a whopping 1,158 pieces, and with that, you will also build a fully removable Lego version of the F40’s 2.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. One of my favorite little nuances of this Lego set are the headers, which are made out of the pistols from the Old West sets of the early 1990s. You’ll be able to pick up the set for $90, which is a bit steep for some LEGOs. But how can you put a price tag on your childhood?
The new LEGO Ferrari F40 set will go on sale August 1st, but if you’re a member of the LEGO VIP, you’ll be able to order it starting July 15th. Now where did I stash my piggybank?
