Game Footage for the New 'Need for Speed' Looks Incredible
Good things come to those who wait. In this case, it applies to the diehard Need for Speed fans who have been waiting for a new game for about two years. If the trailer released at this week's E3 conference is any indication, it's going back to what gamers loved about it before its most recent duds: excellent customization options, a roaming open world, and plenty of good police chases. The new game will take place in an area called "Ventura Bay" aka Los Angeles. A few screencaps released this week show that there will be a variety of different landscapes in the open-set playground, including downtowns, suburbs, industrial areas, and mountains. It's apparently twice the size of the map from Need for Speed Rivals, and you can drive around any time, anywhere. Expansion obviously means more to do and more to see, and in driving games, that's never a bad thing. RELATED: New ‘Need for Speed’ Game Teaser Looks Like Street Racing on Steroids
Additionally, as we mentioned before, working with SpeedHunters more closely will give Need for Speed a more authentic tuner and aftermarket feel. Real cars, real parts, real mods, and real results. There's a reason you see a Rocket Bunny up top.
Need for Speed arrives November 3 to PC, XBOX, and PlayStation.
