Watch 2,200 Pigs Cause a Highway Mess in Ohio
There are all sorts of things that can make you late for an appointment. You might sleep in and get a late start, you might run into unexpected traffic, or you might have car trouble. Absent from that list of common excuses is the presence of 2,200 pigs running amuck on the highway, and yet that's exactly what recently happened in Ohio. A semi-truck carrying the 2,200 pigs tipped over in Xenia Township near Dayton sending the pigs scurrying off in every direction. The accident happened on the State Route 35 Bypass, giving the pigs a chance at freedom. Unfortunately, many of the pigs were killed in the crash, but hundreds of them ran off in search of greener pastures. RELATED: See 8 Examples of How Not to Tow a Vehicle
The authorities in Greene County were called in to help wrangle all the pigs. Hours later, fire and police workers were still searching for little lost piggies in an effort to get them all back into trailers. Shoutout to the few piglets who excaped their clutches are gleefully romping through the forests of Ohio.
According to USA Today, there was no word on what caused the driver of the truck to veer into the guardrail, and luckily, the driver and his passenger were unharmed. The police are investigating what caused the accident.
