Emotional New Miata Commercial Goes Full Circle
Whatever you start with, your first car is special. Personally, I had a 1996 Saturn SC2 Coupe, and I will defend that thing 'till the day I die. Who cares if Saturn doesn't exist anymore? That car gave me an entirely new life. It opened up endless possibilities (within the restrictions of my parents' rules). And that's where Mazda opens up in this new commercial for the fourth-generation Miata. The new Mazda campaign is called "Driving Matters," and it completely focuses on how much fun you can have behind the wheel and how integral it can be throughout the multiple stages of life. This particular video is called "A Driver's Life," and it follows a young man from his first car (a first-gen Miata in all of its flip lights glory, of course) to a Mazda3 to a Mazda6 to a Mazda CX-5 and all the way back to the new Miata. Although so many car commercials are pure garbage these days, this one does a pretty nice job of showing that connection between owner and automobile. That's why driving matters.
