New Fiat Concept Looks Beautiful For a Compact Sedan
Over the years, US auto fans have grown quite familiar with gorgeous new cars that sadly won’t ever make the swim across the Atlantic or Pacific. Today, Fiat Chrysler fans will become acquainted with yet another. Debuting at the Istanbul Motor Show, this is Fiat’s new Aegea concept car. According to Fiat, the concept has been designed in Italy and developed in Turkey with an emphasis on teaming practicality with style. Upon first appearances, that latter goal seems to have been achieved in full. The Aegea will go on sale under a different name in Turkey in November of 2015, and will reach over 40 countries in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. It likely won’t come stateside anytime soon, but its styling is certainly welcome. RELATED: Take a Closer Look at the 2015 Fiat Aegea Concept Car
From front to back, the Aegea concept’s sculpted and flowing lines give it the look of a much larger, much more pronounced sedan. Though measuring just 177 inches in length, it’s still relatively compact in comparison, around ten inches longer than the new Fiat 500X crossover. Fiat says it can swallow five passengers in comfort, along with 18 cubic feet full of their luggage.
Power comes courtesy of one of four available engines, including two MultiJet II turbodiesel units and two gas engines. Power will range between 95 and 120 horsepower for the group, put to the ground with the choice of either a manual or automatic gearbox. Pick the diesel, and Fiat notes drivers could see up to 70mpg (Euro test cycle).

Inside, the passenger compartment looks equally well wrought. Chrysler’s Uconnect system finds a home in the dashboard, along with a five-inch touch screen. Features include hands-free Bluetooth calling, audio text message reading, and an optional rear parking camera and TomTom navigation.
