This Autonomous Underwater Mercedes Concept is a Jetson's Car for the Sea
Autonomous technology is infiltrating all areas of driving. It's in planes, cars, trains, and now, it's in personal watercraft submarine pod things. The Mercedes-Benz H2O Concept is an idea from designer Markus Krautter that, according to him, creates a "symbiosis of science and ecotourism." "In our modern times, it is increasingly necessary to take care of natural treasures, which are a fundamental part of our existence," Krautter said. "... Living and working underwater is a well-known dream to mankind." PHOTOS: Is This the Self-Driving Mercedes of the Future?
The concept vehicle is shaped like a bullet that's been hammered into a flat bill up front. The interior comfortably fits four people, gives passengers a full 360-degree view of the the surroundings, and an HMI screen provides information on the fish and other creatures passing by. The Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) is intended as a vision of what could be used for ecotourism to explore the ocean.
We fully expect this thing to show up in Jurassic World 2: Oceans Unknown.
