The Audi TT Clubsport Turbo Concept Makes 600 AWD Horsepower

The Audi R8 officially needs to start watching its back. Thanks to Audi's new TT Clubsport Turbo Technology concept car and its new electric turbos, that thunder clap it can hear in the distance is getting closer and closer. Before its physical debut at Wörthersee, the hotted-up TT broke cover online, and comes with breakneck power. The Clubsport Turbo produces 600 horsepower and 479.4 lb-ft of torque from an electric-biturbo 5-cylinder, 2.5 TFSI engine. On top of that, it has a gated six-speed manual transmission, it has quattro permanent all-wheel drive, and it weighs 3,077 pounds. In layman's terms, it makes it much quicker and allows for higher peak torque. The electric turbo is there to help fill the gaps from the regular turbo and can rev to max RPM without any delay, according to Audi. Well, according to Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Audi Board Member for Technical Development, "close to production readiness" in TDI engines. "We are now presenting it in a TFSI," he said.
