Watch The World's First Motorcycle Triple Backflip
The most famous motorcycle stuntman ever was Evel Knievel. He stunned crowds by pulling off impossible feats that had people holding their breath as he sailed through the air. Would he make the landing or crash and burn? That's exactly what the crowd was thinking in this video featuring Josh Sheehan. He managed to pull off he world's first triple backflip on a motorcycle and, even knowing he sticks the landing, it's still hard to believe. The 29-year-old Australian rode a bike traveling 60 mph off the end of a 37-foot ramp angled at 81 degrees to set his record. RELATED: Check Out Daryl Dixon's 'The Walking Dead' Motorcycle
It was all very precise and required a year of practice runs that had Sheehan test-landing into huge airbags so that he wouldn't be injured if and when the jumps failed. All that practice paid off when Sheehan landed his motorcycle perfectly on April 28th at Pastranaland in Maryland.
The ramp let Sheehan achieve 80 vertical feet to make the three flips. It's amazing to see from the sidelines, but when the camera shows his point of view, it may make you lose your lunch.
